I started exploring music production at around 10 years old. Since then, I quickly developed a strong interest in musical storytelling, which naturally drew me to film music (the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack got me into playing the piano). Although I seriously considered it, my lack of courage and know-how at the time held me back from pursuing a career in music. So, ten years ago, I decided to study biology instead — another major interest of mine. I obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biomedical sciences, and continued working in cancer research. Although I remained deeply conflicted, those years were instrumental to me.

Interestingly, I learned that storytelling is very important in the scientific world — a trait it clearly shares with film. Over time, I began to notice more parallels; already at the core, music is intertwined with science. Creativity and technology, a passionate community and intense workloads — They are all shared themes across both fields. My years in science ultimately gave me the foundation to reconsider a musical path.

In April 2025, I made the decision to step into the world of film. I quit my job, and the following few months marked a radical change. Coming from a completely different line of work, it was challenging to navigate a new field. However, I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had so far, working with talented film makers.

My time in the lab taught me that communication and collaboration are instrumental to effectively develop projects. I strive to carry this experience into my work as a composer. I believe it is my job to listen closely and communicate well with film makers, to truly understand their vision of the story and emotions. This forms the foundation for creating a fitting musical score, and it is something I constantly aim for.

As a film music composer, I seek to combine my passion for storytelling through music with supporting others in realizing their vision.
